So, how does this all work?Great question! At Patton Web Designs, we offer an unparalleled website design experience to make sure you end up with a website you're happy with. Here's a general order of events for website designs and redesigns: Initial Consultation: During this time, we'll get a feel for what you want your website to look like. Together, we'll review and approve the site map, color scheme, and other requirements, and provide you with a quote. Design Process Begins: At this point, the non-refundable deposit will have been received (if applicable). We will send a content request via email, if necessary, and begin the website's main framework. As we receive content, the website will start taking shape. 75% Completion: The main framework and desktop site are nearly complete. At this point, we will request a virtual meeting to review the progress. This is your opportunity to provide us with feedback and additional direction. The Final Stretch: The final 25% of the project will include any revisions we discussed during our virtual meeting as well as the mobile site. If necessary, we will schedule another virtual meeting for final approval. For new Wix websites, ownership will be transferred to you at this time. Completion of Services: Once the design/redesign is completed and approved, the remaining balance will be due. Moving Forward: We always offer website support after we've completed our services. Generally speaking, minor updates (i.e. text changes, image changes) can be completed at no cost. New additions to your website (i.e. new elements, features or pages) will be billed based on the project requirements. If you'd like website management services to post blogs/articles, or make routine website updates, we will agree to a monthly rate for these services. If you have any questions about our process, please don't hesitate to email us!

Is the mobile site included with my website design/redesign?Of course! Most websites these days are used primarily on mobile devices. We aim to provide users with the best possible experience on both the desktop and mobile versions of your website. This is always included with services that involve changes to the design of your website.
-
I don't have a domain yet. Can you purchase it for me?No. Domains are an important part of having a website. We require you to purchase and manage your domain yourself. We recommend purchasing your domain from domain providers such as GoDaddy or Google Domains. Domain costs may vary and availability is not guaranteed. The cost of your preferred domain will not be reflected in your quote and is not included in your project cost.
-
What type of content should I provide? For new websites: The more the better! Feel free to take a look at our Content Checklist to get an idea of what we'll need from you. For website redesigns: If you plan to update or add any content during the redesign, please provide us with the updated content.
-
Do you offer website management?Yes! We offer website management and maintenance on a monthly basis. The pricing will vary based on what you need from us during that month. There is a three (3) month minimum for website management, and you may choose to cancel or go month-to-month thereafter. There are no refunds or exchanges if you cancel in the middle of the month.
-
Do you only build websites on Wix?Nope! While we are a Wix Partner and specialize in Wix websites, we have experience building websites on various platforms such as Shopify, Square/Squarespace, WordPress, and GoDaddy. We also offer services for Carrd and Google Sites websites!
-
Why Wix?We prefer to build websites on Wix because it allows us the most design freedom. This helps us deliver a website to your specifications, while other website platforms may have various limitations. Wix is also extremely user friendly when it comes to managing your blog, shop, bookings, etc., which gives you the ability to easily and effectively manage your business through your website. If you don't want your site on Wix, no problem! Contact us to schedule a consultation to discuss which platform you'd prefer us to use for your website.
-
Will I own my website?Absolutely. If we're building a new website for you on Wix or Shopify, we will transfer ownership of the site to you prior to publishing. This will allow you to add your banking information and select the hosting plan that suits your needs. If we're building a website for you on any other platform, we ask that you set up your site and provide us with edit access.
-
I need my website ASAP. Can you make it happen? In most cases, yes! A rush fee will apply.
-
How long will it take for you to complete my website?Timelines vary depending on the project. For example, a website with 10 pages will take longer for us to build than a one page website. Please note that timelines will be impacted by the client's ability to deliver the content, information, or feedback we may request. A pause fee will apply when the client is unable to deliver such content, information, or feedback in a timely manner. We recommend coming prepared with all of the content you want to go on your website. Refer to our Content Checklist as a starting point.
-
Do you offer referral incentives?Yes! As of 2024, we are offering 10% off to existing clients on projects over $200 for every successful referral. Referred will also receive 10% off their first project! Discount does not apply to clients with projects in progress of unpaid invoices. Referred must pay 50% non-refundable deposit to be considered a successful referral. Offer cannot be combined or transferred. For multiple referrals, 10% will be applied to each upcoming project.
-
How much are your websites? Our prices vary depending on what the client needs. Take a look at our Services page to gauge how much your project may cost. An accurate project cost will be sent after the initial consultation.
-
Do you require a deposit?Yes. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for invoices over $500 before any work begins on your website. If your invoice is $500 or less, payment is required in full. No refunds or exchanges will be issued for any payments.
-
When is my final payment due?Because not all clients are ready to publish at the same time the website is completed, payment is due in full upon the completion of the design/redesign. Late payments may be subject to late fees.
-
Can we set up a payment plan for your services? In some cases, we may be able to set up a payment plan for your project. Contact us for a quote and payment options.
-
Why do you have a pause fee? How much is it?We have a pause fee to encourage clients to provide us with the necessary content and feedback we need to complete the job we were hired for. This allows us to effectively manage our workload without holding up other projects. As a freelancer, this work is part of our livelihood and we rely on clients to make ends meet. If we are unable to complete a project because we are still waiting on items from the client, a pause notice will be issued after fourteen (14) days without communication. If the requested content and/or feedback are not received within forty-eight (48) hours thereafter, an invoice for the pause fee will be sent via email. If the pause fee is not paid within one (1) month, the project will be suspended. Please refer to your contract for further details on the pause fee. The pause fee is 20% of the project total. This fee is in addition to your non-refundable deposit.
-
Are hosting fees included in my price quote/project cost? No. The client is always responsible for monthly or annual payments to the hosting platform their website is being built on.
