Great question! At Patton Web Designs, we offer an unparalleled website design experience to make sure you end up with a website you're happy with. Here's a general order of events for website designs and redesigns:
Initial Consultation: During this time, we'll get a feel for what you want your website to look like. Together, we'll review and approve the site map, color scheme, and other requirements, and provide you with a quote.
Design Process Begins: At this point, the non-refundable deposit will have been received (if applicable). We will send a content request via email, if necessary, and begin the website's main framework. As we receive content, the website will start taking shape.
75% Completion: The main framework and desktop site are nearly complete. At this point, we will request a virtual meeting to review the progress. This is your opportunity to provide us with feedback and additional direction.
The Final Stretch: The final 25% of the project will include any revisions we discussed during our virtual meeting as well as the mobile site. If necessary, we will schedule another virtual meeting for final approval. For new Wix websites, ownership will be transferred to you at this time.
Completion of Services: Once the design/redesign is completed and approved, the remaining balance will be due.
Moving Forward: We always offer website support after we've completed our services. Generally speaking, minor updates (i.e. text changes, image changes) can be completed at no cost. New additions to your website (i.e. new elements, features or pages) will be billed based on the project requirements. If you'd like website management services to post blogs/articles, or make routine website updates, we will agree to a monthly rate for these services.
If you have any questions about our process, please don't hesitate to email us!
No. Domains are an important part of having a website. We require you to purchase and manage your domain yourself. We recommend purchasing your domain from domain providers such as GoDaddy or Google Domains. Domain costs may vary and availability is not guaranteed. The cost of your preferred domain will not be reflected in your quote and is not included in your project cost.
For new websites:
The more the better! Feel free to take a look at our Content Checklist to get an idea of what we'll need from you.
For website redesigns:
If you plan to update or add any content during the redesign, please provide us with the updated content.
We prefer Wix because it offers the most design freedom, allowing us to create a website that meets your specifications. Wix is also user-friendly for managing blogs, shops, bookings, and more, making it easy for you to handle your business. If you prefer another platform, we're happy to discuss your options during a consultation.
Absolutely. If we're building a new website for you on Wix or Shopify, we will transfer ownership of the site to you prior to publishing. This will allow you to add your banking information and select the hosting plan that suits your needs. If we're building a website for you on any other platform, we ask that you set up your site and provide us with edit access.
Timelines vary depending on the project. For example, a website with 10 pages will take longer for us to build than a one page website. Please note that timelines will be impacted by the client's ability to deliver the content, information, or feedback we may request. A pause fee will apply when the client is unable to deliver such content, information, or feedback in a timely manner. We recommend coming prepared with all of the content you want to go on your website.
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on projects over $200 for every successful referral. The new client also gets 10% off their first project. Note: The discount doesn't apply to ongoing projects or unpaid invoices. The referred client must pay a 50% non-refundable deposit to qualify. This offer can't be combined or transferred. For multiple referrals, the discount applies to each upcoming project.
